Perhaps I was forewarned about today, for I had an interesting dream last night involving construction within stables that I could see out a window. Now that I reflect on it, the stables could be a play on the idea of stability…
I got up earlier than normal today and was feeling good so off I went earlier than normal to swim at the gym. Swam hard – 15 laps, got out, went to the hot-tub briefly, went to the dressing room and was chatting with someone when I bent down to grab something my back went into spasm (just like it had 5 years ago in India). Yikes. I was naked and could barely move. Several women helped me at that point, I went back into the hot-tub, someone else got me some ice. A few minutes later someone else helped me get dressed, when I got to the front desk two friends from different aspects of my life showed up to help get me home, and the other drove my car…Then my Mom came and brought me food for the next few days and did the last of the shopping for our Xmas dinner.
So what was interesting was that I had pulled three cards today, which I don’t often do. They were:
Freedom (which is the image of the little spirit vessel hovering above what looks like waves and reminds me of the swimming). Then, Fury – which seems a fitting description of flaring muscle spasms. And that could also be the construction happening in my dream in the stables, perhaps. Then the last card was Temple of Compassion – which was all around me as I dealt with trying to get myself home. I was even able to see the chiropractor within about an hour for he had a no-show…so my Mom drove me there and after his help and the support band he lent me I am about 20 percent better. And, 20 percent of less sharp back pain is significant!!!
So, I am giving thanks today for where I live, that I am known here and have people willing to help out briefly in an acute situation whether or not they knew me! Not what I expected for Christmas weekend, but life is full of surprises, always. And I’m amazed at how the help manifested around me.
Blessings and Merry Christmas One and All!
