Picnics and Pillow-Fights

Mom and I are still having an amazing time! We had a pillow-fight this morning in Augusta and a tail-gate picnic in Texas. We had a two-day break from each other in Atlanta, while she stayed with her brother, Doug and wife, Joan and i stayed with cousin, Nanette. She soaked up the love of her oldest and dearest friends in Atlanta and also Big Canoe in the beautiful beginnings of the Blue Ridge Mountains while I enjoyed seeing her among “her people”.  I re-connected with Aunt Caroline, Uncle Tom, and cousins I haven’t seen in a long time. It’s feeding our souls!

Today we made it to the half-way point in our journey (at least geographically), as we’ve hit Charleston, and spent the evening with another cousin of mine, Carmen and her daughter’s family: Brooke, Jake and kids- Emory and little Carmen. What a joy to see the most recent additions to our extended family. Tomorrow we’ll visit with them some more, and I’m going to attempt to entice little Carmen into their pool to begin learning to swim (or not…we’ll see how it goes).

I’ll take some photos of Charleston as we explore it more. We’ll be here over Memorial Weekend…

What a special trip for both you and your mom. Memories which will be treasured. Any sales!? Perfect per summer weather here. Quiet Memorial Day weekend…felt like a lot of people left town. Lovely! Pool is 80 degrees. Safe continued travels!
